NUTRITIONAL CARE

HOME COOKED MEALS

Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center prepares "home cooked" meals for our residents, adult day care clients, and assisted living tenants. We provide two entrée choices at each meal as well as a substitute soup/sandwich option. Selective menus and a variety of specialized diets are available.

A computerized food delivery system integrates our menus with each individual resident's specific food preferences, dislikes, and nutritional needs. Meals are prepared by cooks who have an average of over 10 years of experience and who have passed a national food safety exam.

MEALS WITH FRIENDS & FAMILIES

Meals are served in our spacious dining rooms. Residents enjoy the companionship and socialization with friends at meal times. The dining rooms are supervised and our staff provides assistance at meal times based on the resident's individual needs.

Guest meals can be purchased for a fee anytime you want to dine with a resident. Family dining rooms are also available for private dining, where you can order guest trays or bring in your favorite foods. Advanced notice is required at holiday meals as seating is limited. To make a reservation for a holiday meal or to reserve one of our family dining rooms anytime, call our Activity Department.

NUTRITION MANAGEMENT/COUNSELING

Three full-time licensed registered dietitians, with extensive training and experience in geriatric nutrition, individually manage each resident's specific nutritional needs. Guidance is provided to individuals who are at risk because of their nutritional history, current dietary intake, medication use or chronic illnesses.
