HISTORY
The story of Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center is one of compassion, understanding, respect and caring. These
traits have positioned it as one of the finest residential care facilities in the state.
Several local Lutheran church congregations met in 1959 to discuss building a home for the elderly with a Christian
focus. Missouri Slope Lutheran Home was created in 1962 for the purpose of caring for the aged and frail of our community. It was organized by
a group of Lutheran laypersons and pastors out of the love of Christ.
Ground was broken in 1965 and we opened our doors in 1967 as an 80 bed nursing facility. Our name was changed
to Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in 1987. Today we provide care for 250 skilled nursing care residents of which 82 reside in private rooms.
MSLCC is licensed by the North Dakota State Department of Health and certified by the Medicare and Medicaid programs. In addition, we offer 64 units of assisted living at our Valley View Heights complex, which is licensed by the ND State Department of Human Services.
