Honors
Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center is a STAR Site in the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). Approval into VPP is OSHA’s official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health. These facilities have implemented a comprehensive safety and health management system and
have maintained injury and illness rates below national Bureau of Labor Statistics averages for their respective industries. |
 |
To participate, employers must submit an application to OSHA and undergo a rigorous onsite evaluation by a team of safety and health professionals and OSHA officials. MSLCC received a STAR rating in 2007, which is the highest rating an employer can receive. MSLCC is one of only 13 nursing homes in the nation, and the only health care facility in our six state region to receive this prestigious award. VPP participants are re-evaluated every three to five years to remain in the programs and MSLCC received recertification in 2010. |
